Hanover Technology Group is seeking a Technical Architect to join our team in our Worcester, MA Corporate Headquarters or remote work location. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Technical Architect (TA) provides leadership and facilitation for project or program solution and technical design. The TA guides projects on their overall high-level solution and technical approach, engagement with the broader project team, and represents the solution and technical design at the formal architecture review board meeting. The TA is the owner of the project solution and technical architecture process and all architecture artifacts.IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: Be responsible for understanding and enforcing enterprise architectural principals, standards & patterns at the project levelAct with oversight from senior Architecture personnel and consults/enlists other architecture team members (EA, DA, SA) as requiredWork in close partnership with business community, business analysts, solution, information and data architects to design and deliver impactful business solutionsBe responsible for technical approach, high level and detailed design of the project including all reviews/approvals in accordance with architectural standardsBe responsible for enforcing the use of standard tools and products across projects as directed by the Enterprise Architecture OrganizationChampion and conform applications and infrastructure to accepted Secure Development Operations (DevOps) practicesParticipate in the Identification and documentation of the nonfunctional and functional requirements for the solution and technical designsSupport the project implementation team, SME’s and Production Support team for occasional troubleshooting and root cause analysis effortsWork in close collaboration with project manager for project status and estimation of resource needsAssist the project manager in recognizing and mitigating any risks to the solution's overall success or to existing systems, infrastructure and business processesUnderstand and mitigate solution and technical design options on security, performance and data privacy and governance through review of proposed configurations and system implementationsExplain existing system capabilities to key business users as well as any modifications in support of business processes.Keep abreast and leverage existing shared capabilities, products, software and infrastructure in proposed solutionsReview any documentation provided by vendors and internal technical analysis teams for technical accuracy in meeting the business needs.Review and approve technical specifications; supports subsequent delivery processes to ensure solution meets business and architectural objectives as envisionedMentor technical leads and developers in answering questions regarding the architecture and design of our systemsEnsure project compliance to approved software development methodologies.Work comfortably in SDLC selected by project (waterfall, agile or combination of both)Communicate both technically and conceptually to provide architecture leadership and guidance to business and technical team members throughout the course of the project WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY: Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5-7 years in the industry with increasing infrastructure and cloud responsibilityExposure to multiple, diverse business systems, technologies and processing environmentsTechnical architecture, solution design and development experience5 years of cloud experience with a focus on standards, compliance, security and automation.5 years experience with Virtualization and Application Infrastructure (VMWare, HyperV, Kubernetes(AKS,EKS,RHOS),Cloud Native Web services, Java ,.NET,NodeJS,Python5 years experience with Database Platforms and supporting infrastructure (SQL, Oracle, DB2)Understands how changes/updates effect not only the specific domain but also other systems and infrastructureInsurance industry experience and product knowledge preferredExperience with varying hardware and virtualization vendors and manufacturersStrong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, collaboration and negotiationStrong planning, facilitation and organizational skillsSolid written and verbal communication skillsAbility to understand the strategic ("big picture") and tactical perspectives of situationsAbility to translate business needs into solution and technical architecture requirementsAbility to estimate the financial impact of individual solution architecture and alternativesAbility to define multiple solution options to business problemsKnowledge of key aspects of The Hanover’s businessBasic knowledge of information principles and policies
